I’m in love with her. What does that mean?

Traffic can eff itself.

I actually finished The Passion by Jeanette Winterson. I normally…. don’t read, at all. But this book makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside =).

The main characters have a sense for noticing the small beautiful details. There are too many quotes that I want to show… so just read it.

Then, when I had regarded myself for the first time, I regarded the world and saw it to be more various and beautiful than I thought. Like most people I enjoyed the hot evenings and the smell of food and the birds that spike the sky, but I was not a mystic nor a man of God and I did not feel the extasy I had read about. I longed for a feeling though I could not have told you that. Words like passion and extasy, we learn them but they stay flat on the page. Sometimes we try and turn them over, find out what’s on the other side, and everyone has a story to tell of a woman or a brothel or an opium night or a war. We fear it. We fear passion and laugh at too much love and those who love too much.

And still we long to feel.

Despite the slew of tests coming up, I’m in a really good mood!!

They say that every snowflake is different. If that were true, how could the world go on? How could we ever get up off our knees? How could we ever recover from the wonder of it?

By forgetting. We cannot keep in mind too many things. There is only the present and nothing to remember.

I’m thankful for life…. as weird as that may sound.

Thankful for those days where it’s cool enough outside to wear a jacket, and the air is so crisp that when you breath in… you breath in so deeply that every exhale is a sigh of relief.

Thankful for rainy days… when being inside feels super cozy because of the sudden contrast, when you can look around and find people with interesting umbrellas. It’s a nice change from the norm.

Thankful for the chance to grow older and experience things. The days of exuberant sunlight, happiness, and laughter. And also those dark days of sorrow and somberness, cause if everyday was a good day… wouldn’t that be boring?

I’m thankful for… that despite all the mistakes I’ve made in the past… I’m still here today. I’ve moved on. I’m thankful that I can look forward to things. Not only what I’m doing tomorrow, but my hopes, my dreams…

But what are those aspirations? What am I doing now to achieve them?

I have no idea.

My biggest fear is that in the distant future… I’ll look back on the past and wish I did more. Can I have a dream that doesn’t involve sacrificing the present for the sake of the future?

Time, you’re just too quick…

I had la mexicana 2 days in a row. wahahah

(i know you don’t like when people do this)

even though i was disappointed because you didn’t come to the concert with me, i was dumb and thought my ticket was “will call.” in fact it was print at home… so i only had 1 valid ticket with me anyways! hah!

There’s an idea that when you’re a photographer, you’re removing yourself from the scene.

It’s as if you aren’t interacting with anyone else, you are trying to be unnoticed, only an observer of what is occurring.

And when you become the photographer of friends, of people who are socializing… what are you then?

When will I be a person who is in the mix? Who actually lives?

There’s another idea… that food tastes better when cooked from love. That’s why I’ve grown to hate restaurants like chili’s, olive garden, and bennigans. Their chefs have no imagination, everything is pre determined by some corporate junkie. It’s expensive fast food at best… and what’s even worse is that these companies impend on the business of hard working chefs and restaurant owners! GRR.

Eating out at a legit place doesn’t even have to cost a lot. That’s why I embrace Austin’s Mexican joints…. it’s much like how you would go to hole in the wall Chinese places in Houston.

Man, I need to learn how to cook better things.
